Meet The Team

Events the size of Cisco Live are only possible with the collaboration and efforts of people – our most important asset. Below is an introduction to the people in our core team.

Jeremy Bevan

Jeremyheads-jeremy is our Executive Host for Cisco Live 2013, London and is the Head of Technology Marketing for over 120 countries across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR) for Cisco.

Jeremy has held senior roles within TANDBERG (now part of Cisco), Novell, HP and Cambridge Technology Partners in marketing, programme management, software development and consulting, giving him over 25 years of operational and customer facing experience within the IT industry.

With a strong instinct for prioritisation and a relentless focus on results, Jeremy’s expertise lies in solving business issues which touch the organisation & technology and has a strong track record in delivering on change programmes. He has a keen interest in the use of technology to empower people to connect and collaborate together – ‘the art of the possible’.

On a personal level Jeremy has three passions, his family, his gadgets and his music and as an interesting fact, he plays drums in a band.

Gerd De Bruycker

GerdGerd De Bruycker De Bruycker is the Cisco lead on Cisco Live 2013, London. This will be his third Cisco Live. His responsibilities lie in the overall vision, strategy and program management. It is his job to make it all happen and connected with Cisco’s overall vision and strategy.

He is also the Head of Event Marketing for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia. Together with his team he is setting up events and providing guidance and support to local and corporate teams. Next to his day job, he is also teaching the course “Corporate Event Management” in the 3rd year of a Bachelor Degree in Belgium.

Previously he worked for almost 10 years at Microsoft in various roles, though spending most of his time organizing big events. He managed Microsoft Tech Ed in Amsterdam, a few times in Barcelona and once in Dubai, Microsoft IT Forum and Microsoft Convergence in Rotterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna and London. He started his career by teaching at university in the early days of the Internet in Belgium.

As an interesting fact, he has been a semi-professional soccer player in the second division in Belgium.

Lesley Henderson

Lesleyheads-lesley is our overall Cisco Live Project Manager. She is also responsible for the project management of the World of Solutions Exhibition as well as Production, including the keynotes. She has worked on the Cisco Live event for the past four and a half years and up to now has managed all different aspects of the event.

Prior to this, Lesley worked in a number of London-based communications agencies, managing a wide variety of events from product launches and roadshows to awards dinners and fashion shows. Clients she’s worked with include Microsoft, Dell, BP and GSK.

As an interesting fact, in April 2012, Lesley competed in a 100m race in the London Olympic Stadium.

Bonny Shapira

BonnyBonny Shapira Joined the Cisco Live team just after the conclusion of our previous Cisco Live event back in January 2012. He is our content program manager, leading a team of Cisco professionals responsible for the selection and creation of the educational sessions (breakouts, techtorials, panels, case studies).

He is also responsible for the Cisco Campus area within the exhibition floor (World of Solutions), bringing Cisco’s latest innovations and solutions together under a unified experience area.

As an interesting fact, Bonny is passionate for Swimming and Spanish.

Rebecca Ewing

Rebeccaheads-rebecca is our Marketing Communications person and has been working in the high tech industry for over 17 years in companies of all sizes from start-up to global corporations such as IBM, SAP and Cisco.

As a Senior Marketing Strategist for experiential marketing agency George P. Johnson, Rebecca is highly experienced in large scale, multi-country, multi-faceted direct and digital marketing campaigns.

As an interesting fact, Rebecca lives in the grounds of an eighteenth century haunted house.

Remco Kamerman

Remcoheads-remco started his Cisco Career in 1999 as an intern in the IT department, the year of the Y2K Bug. He stayed in the IT-Support group for a while and became a European team lead of 12 Engineers. That team supported the big events which Cisco hosted across Europe. This is how he came in contact with Networkers which has now evolved into Cisco Live.

In 2008 he moved into the Events Team to work full time on events and demonstrations. Cisco Live 2013 , London will be the 9th time working on this great event.

As an interesting fact, Remco continues to organise events in his private life, such as local tennis tournaments.

Julie Craig

Julie has been responsible for exhibition sales on the previous three Cisco Live European events and, with the World of Solutions growing every year, is looking forward to an even bigger and better exhibition in 2013!

As an interesting fact, Julie once had to make a cup of “English” tea in the White House.

Abby Kirby

AbbyAbby Kirby leads the registration efforts for Cisco Live 2013, London. She has worked for Cisco for over four years and joined the Cisco Live team in 2011 managing the Press programme, C-Scape – the Analysts event, and the Women’s networking lunch.

Cisco Live has been one of the best conferences that I have, and will continue to, attend for IT. The technical information provided by sessions is first class. Cisco knows how to take care of attendees with an excellent conference overall.
