Mike Herbert (CCIE 8479) is a Technical Marketing Engineer with Cisco’s Server Access and Virtualization BU focusing on Data Center virtualization and switching architectures. He supports the Nexus switching products (Nexus 5000, 4000, 2000 & 1000v) and focuses on Data Centre LAN and SAN design and the integration of Nexus and UCS as components in the Data Centre architecture. Prior to this he was a member of the Enterprise Systems Engineering (ESE) group at Cisco Systems focusing on Switching Architectures and together with his colleagues was responsible for development and verification of the Cisco best practice high availability switching designs and authored many of the associated design guides.
Mike was also at one time a member of the ESE team that developed the Cisco Unified Communications and Call Center Design Guides. Before his work on the ESE solutions team Mike worked with Cisco Advanced Services providing design guidance and technical support for large Enterprise customers. He is a Routing and Switching CCIE.
