Samer Salam is a Principal Engineer in Cisco’s Network Systems and Software Technology Group. He focuses on the system and software architecture for Ethernet services and transport technologies, spanning both the Service Provider and Data Center segments. Samer’s work covers the areas of Metro Ethernet services (EVCs), OAM, resiliency, advanced bridging protocols and integration with MPLS-based Layer 2 VPNs. Previously at Cisco, he held multiple development and technical leadership positions working on system scalability, multi-service edge, broadband, MPLS and dial solutions. Samer is the author of a number of articles in industry journals and is a contributor to the IETF. He holds an M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California with emphasis on Computer Networks.
