Installing and troubleshooting network technologies, performing “what-if” scenarios, and practicing risky network operations in a simulated environment moderated by Cisco experts are the best ways to get critical hands-on experience.
Cisco Live 2012 features four- and eight-hour instructor-led labs. Several labs serve as preparation for specific Cisco Certifications exams. Labs are priced in addition to your conference fee. Classes fill up quickly, so please register early to reserve your preferred times.
This is a practical session focused on assessing a candidate’s capabilities and capacity for time-based troubleshooting. Designed for CCIE R&S candidates, this session helps hone the skills learned in the earlier session and tests what attendees believe they already know. Attendees will encounter a set of practical challenges and assessments designed to increase exposure to realistic scenarios, requiring the quick thinking and analysis necessary to tackle the CCIE R&S Lab Troubleshooting section. This is a hands-on session. The session is led by a seasoned veteran Cisco360 CCIE Instructor who has survived many campaigns.
This session (30 percent lecture, 70 percent hands-on lab) teaches the fundamentals of Cisco’s advanced distance-vector routing protocol, EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), which offers a feature-rich set of solutions for both simple and complex networks. Participants learn the building blocks and best practices of EIGRP while implementing and maintaining a campus network consisting of more than 20 routers. Participants should have at least basic (preferably intermediate) skill with Cisco IOS Software and the command-line interface as well as a basic understanding of IP routing fundamentals.
Topics covered include details of the EIGRP protocol (including Diffusing Update Algorithm and reliable multicast), debugging and troubleshooting techniques, and the use of key EIGRP features such as redistribution, summarization, and stub. This session covers both IPv4 and IPv6 EIGRP routing.
The online catalog features search capabilities to help you find the exact sessions you want. You can search by session type—for example, search on “4-hour lab” to see all available labs. Or you can search by technology track and see the related advanced training options sorted by session ID. Sessions labeled “LRT” are labs, and sessions labeled “TEC” are technical seminars and appear toward the bottom of the track listing. Click through to the session description for more details. You can also view all the offerings available on a particular day.
Cisco Live has been one of the best conferences that I have, and will continue to, attend for IT. The technical information provided by sessions is first class. Cisco knows how to take care of attendees with an excellent conference overall.
