SOCIAL IMPACT AT CISCO LIVE

Be a part of the movement to accelerate global problem solving.

WHY SOCIAL IMPACT

Our social impact mission at Cisco Live is to amplify Cisco’s commitment to accelerate global problem solving through technology and expertise, and to positively impact people, society, and the planet.

Our activities tie into Cisco’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) priorities and our goal to positively impact 1 billion people by 2025. At Cisco Live 2020, thanks to the help and support of our participants, we were able to donate 55 bikes to homeless and refugee programs in Barcelona. Mobility is key for school, medical appointments, work, and attending essential services. These bikes will provide a valuable service to help support those who have found themselves displaced, to find work, stay healthy and rebuild their lives.

CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY

Cisco Networking Academy is changing lives. More than IT skills training; it’s a community whose members are the students, educators, and business leaders shaping the future. Since its inception, Cisco Networking Academy has educated 9.2 million students in over 180 countries. We’re changing education, we’re changing businesses, and we’re changing economies.

Cisco Networking Academy Dream Team

Every year at Cisco Live, a team of Cisco Networking Academy students and instructors from across EMEAR, the United States and Canada are chosen to work alongside Cisco Network Operations Center (NOC) engineers to help set up and support the massive network that supports Cisco Live. The Networking Academy Dream Team is a diverse representation of the future workforce, including college students, military veterans, and career changers looking to expand their IT knowledge and demonstrate their skills in a fast-paced, real-world environment.

CISCO TACTICAL OPERATIONS

Cisco Tactical Operations (TacOps) is a highly skilled and dedicated team that can mobilize and respond to natural disasters and other catastrophes around the world when normal communications infrastructures have been degraded or destroyed. Trained to work in challenging environments, the team deploys the Cisco Network Emergency Response Vehicle (NERV), portable emergency communication kits, and other satellite-based communications equipment during the acute phase of an emergency to provide mission-critical connectivity, free of charge as part of Cisco’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
