General information for registered attendees.


Cisco Live 2020 is taking place at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona. The Fira Gran Via is located just 3 km from the city center and with its interesting modern design is one of Barcelona’s most prestigious conference venues.

Cisco Live 2020 are working with BCD Meetings & Events and HotelMap* to suggest hotels for your stay in Barcelona. Please note that it is your responsibility to book your accommodation directly with your preferred hotel – we recommend that you do this as soon as possible. Do I need a visa to attend Cisco Live?
Visitors from non-Schengen countries must possess a passport valid for at least a three-month stay. To begin with the procedure, attendees are advised to locate their respective diplomatic mission or embassy. As offices aren’t available in all countries, it is necessary to either apply at an embassy representing Spain or to travel to an assigned embassy in another country. Please note that the visa procedure can take up to one month.

How do I obtain a visa invitation letter?
During the registration process you will be asked if you require a visa letter. In order to request a visa letter from the Cisco Live team, please be prepared to provide the following information:

  • Your local embassy’s name (Embassy to whom you are submitting the request)
  • Embassy address
  • Embassy fax number
  • Full name on passport (first name, middle name and last name)

Visa invitation letters will be submitted for approval for attendees who have requested a letter and have completed registration data for a Main Conference, IT Management or full week Explorer pass, including payment. Please allow sufficient time in requesting your letter as most embassies can take up to one month to process your request.



By Metro
The Fira metro station is the closest station to the venue. Fira station is a 7 minute walk from the North Access of the Fira Gran Via.

The L9 Sud metro line runs directly from Zona Universitària to the Fira station.

Alternatively take either of the metro lines below from the city centre:

  • Take the L1 metro line (towards Hospital de Bellvitge), exit at Torrassa and change to L9 Sud to the Fira.
  • Take the L1 metro line (towards Hospital de Bellvitge), exit at Torrassa and change to L10 Sud to FOC (Fira North Access).
  • Take the L3 metro line (towards Zona Universitària), exit at Zona Universitària and change to L9 Sud to the Fira.
  • Take the L5 metro line (towards Cornella Centre), exit at Collblanc and change to L9 Sud to the Fira.

Fira Station is more convenient when going to the North Access of the Fira Gran Via. Use the Ferrocarrils line (FGC) only if your hotel is near Plaça Espanya but bear in mind that walking to the North Access takes approximately 12-15 min.

By Bus
The H16 bus line runs from a lot of the central city locations, exit at stop PL del Nou. The North Access to the Fira is then 500m from there.

By Taxi
A taxi from the city center to the Fira Gran Via will cost around €25-30 dependant on your exact location within the city and will take approx. 15-20 mins, or possibly longer during peak times. There is a taxi rank outside the Fira on North Access in carrer Foc, 37, 08038 Barcelona.

Car Parking
The Fira Barcelona Car Park is located at Fira Barcelona Gran Via – North Access, Del Foc street, 37, 08038 Barcelona.

The designated Cisco Live Car Park is Parking F and is open from 06:00 – 22:00. This is a cash only car park and costs €3.00 per hour per car. Please note cars cannot be left overnight.



By Taxi
Travel time by taxi from the airport to the Fira Gran Via is approximately 15 minutes (dependant on the time of day). Please note there is a minimum charge for taxis from the airport.

Taxi fare: approx. €30.00 – €40.00
Minimum taxi fare from the airport: €20.00

By Metro
The L9 Sud metro line runs directly from the airport terminals 1 & 2 to the Fira Gran Via every 7 minutes on weekdays. You will need to exit at Fira station, it is then a 7 minute walk from there.
