CCSIOT-2200 - Fog computing at the World Largest Copper Mine (2016 Las Vegas) - 1 Hour

Session Description

**The presentation PDF for this session will not be available.**

Today Copper mining is significantly challenged to improve productivity which requires all types of field machinery be able to make real-time decisions in the open mine pit and at a very low cost of implementation. This means information process and features control must be done onsite by unskilled field workers. Xompass and Codelco, the world largest Copper producer, have been working together to develop a Cloud SCADA solution based on the Xompass IoT Platform. The Platform can generate a real-time 3D open mine pit dashboard for field workers. Xompass uses Cisco Cloud Services and Cisco Fog Computing, IR829. The IR829 Router enables secured and reliable machinery control and reduces cloud latency and bandwidth utilization. The Xompass industrial IoT Platform uses Containers and Microservices architecture for agility and scalability across connected devices and Clouds.
