National Industry Innovation Network (NIIN)

The National Industry Innovation Network (NIIN) brings together universities, industry leaders, and government to accelerate digital innovation and adoption across Australia.

Since 2020, it has grown into Australia’s largest industry–university innovation network, with connections to regional and global partners.

Through its nationally connected ecosystem of Innovation Centrals, the Research, Development and Innovation Program, Alliances, and Skills and Talent Development programs, the NIIN supports experimentation, applied research and projects of national significance. Its focus areas include critical infrastructure, defence, cyber security, education, digital health, sustainability, and enabling hybrid work environments.

Visit us in the World of Solutions to engage with the team, talk to our Innovation Central Directors and learn about environments for experimentation, prototyping, and applied research, discover the NIIN Alliances in Health and Cyber, and arrange one-on-one conversations with our Research Chairs to gain valuable insights within their specific areas of expertise.

Women of Cisco Live: Beyond the Wave - Leading with Trust and Community

As AI becomes a seamless part of our daily operations, we find ourselves at a pivotal crossroad. While technology handles the tasks, it risks eroding the human connection that defines our work culture. This session explores how we can move beyond the screen to foster a workplace rooted in trust, vibrant community, and modern, human-centric leadership.

Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2026
Lunch: 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Session: 1:15pm – 2:00pm

Join us for an uplifting conversation where we share personal stories and practical insights on how to reclaim the "joy" of collaboration. Together, we will discover how to leverage AI not as a replacement for human interaction, but as a catalyst for deeper, more meaningful connection.

  • Trust: How to maintain psychological safety and transparency in an environment where AI is integrated into workflows.
  • Community: Strategies to combat the "digital loneliness" caused by automation and ensure that work remains a place of belonging rather than just a series of tasks.
  • Modern Leadership: Shifting the focus from managing output to nurturing people; how leaders can model vulnerability and empathy to bring the human element back to the forefront.
  • The Joy of Connection: Sharing personal experiences on how to use the time saved by AI to invest in mentorship, creative collaboration, and the spontaneous interactions that spark innovation.
